Summary of requirements:
- All applicants must be graduating from one of the four Plant City area high schools: Durant, Plant City, Simmons, or Strawberry Crest.
- All applicants must fully complete the application by typing or printing the information legibly.
- All applicants must have been accepted into a vocational/tech-trade school program OR accepted to a college or university in the United States for academic work towards a two- or four-year degree.
- College applicants must have an unweighted grade point average of not less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- All applicants must have participated in at least one Optimist Club of Plant City or Plant City Champions for Youth sponsored activity.
- All applicants must have a high level of community service and extracurricular activity.
- All applicants must complete a 500-word essay on the subject "What my participation in the Optimist/Champions sponsored program(s) meant to me" and attach it to the application.
- Attach any reference/recommendation letter(s) to the application.
- Applications are due no later than the deadline stated on the application.
- Funds awarded to the selected recipients will be deposited directly into their school account. School account details will be requested from the recipients after the scholarships have been awarded.
